D. Y. Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi, Pune organized a two day’s Industry Academia Interface – 2015 on 26th and 27th March 2015 wherein various experts from the topnotch industries were invited to address the students and make them aware about the expectations industry has from them as Job Ready candidates. The main objective of organizing this conclave was to bring together industry personnel’s and students in order to equip the students with industry requirements, inform them the expectations of Industry from students during campus recruitment, to discuss the most critical issues about the gap in industry and academia today and educate students about the latest technological trends in order to make them job ready. Also this interaction would help the college to plan a strategy towards enhancing the employability of students.
In order to strengthen the industry institute connect, Tech Mahindra Campus Connect Programme was organized on 24th February 2015 for third year engineering students. The delegate’s form Tech Mahindra interacted with HOD’s and informed them about the expectations of Industry from Academia. During their interaction with students, the officials informed students about the job functions in the industry, Attitudes to adapt to industrial environment, importance of communication skills, working environment in the industry, and need for student orientation to industrial disciplines.
TCS organized a Marathon for all the students of various colleges in Pune on 8th February 2015, TCS Fit4 Life Campus CHALLENGE. One of our students Mr. Nitin Singh from SE- IT secured SECOND POSITION in the 5 KM Marathon. He was awarded with a medal and a bicycle.
We Invite Eminent personalities form various Industries and Institutions to lend valuable Information from their Experiences to our students. Guest Lecture is a way of enriching our students with the latest updates of the Industries and Technicalities. The Students are bestowed with knowledge about Industry needs, latest technical updates, Avenues for Higher studies etc. We also offer opportunities for all the students to interact on a consistent basis with Industries by way of visits to many renowned companies.

TCS HIKARI PROGRAMME
TCS will assist the colleges to train students for Japnese Language. The Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of this college. Training & Placement activities are organized throughout the year with a view to prepare the prospective learners for the campus selection programs. It is heartening to state that reputed industries across the country visit this college regularly for campus recruitment programs however, cell maintains good rapport with all industries for effective recruitment. In order to enhance the employability quotient of the students as demanded by industry, the Training & Placement cell provides the much needed training to the students to hone their employability skills. These training programs give the students tips on how to crack aptitude, group discussion, interview skills and resume preparation. The cell also educates the students with career opportunities in different areas such as Public Sector, Armed forces and Government Sector services by conducting guest lecture regularly.
