DCS Workshop
Date: 17/04/2026 to 24/04/2026
The department has conducted 5 days DCS workshop on 17 April 2026 and 21 April to 24 April 2026. Dr. Shashikant Kale Ex. Engg Manager at Reliance Power, Ahmadabad, was the expert for the session. Students got hands on for hardware and simulation of Emerson Delta V DCS. A total of 45 students were present for the workshop. Dr. B. B. Musmade, Rachana Sangitrao, and Vinita Yerande have coordinated the event.
JCI Tech Talk

Students Association of Instrumentation Engineers (SAIE) in association with central Training and Placement cell organized a technical talk on “Overview of Advanced Security Systems” by a team of experts from Johnson Control India Pune is arranged for ST BTech, Third year and final year Instrumentation Engineering students on 10-4-2026. The senior engineer Mr. Santosh along with his team members Kunal, Astha and Utkarsh presented a talk on how data security is important in the field of instrumentation engineering. A total of 76 students attended the talk. Dr. B. B. Musmade, Dr. Yogesh Patil coordinated the event.
ISA Student Led Conference 2026

Department has organized ISA Student Led Conference 2026 on 23/03/2026 in association with ISA Pune Chapter. ISA Pune Section executive board Mr. H. S. Pansare (President), Mr. Gurmeet S. Anand and Dr. Swati Madhe have attended the event. Industrial Visit to GTPS, Uran

The Department has organized Industrial visit at GTPS, Uran Dist-Raigad-Maharashtra on 25-02-2026 and IKS visit to Ratneshwari Temple on the same day for SYBtech Students. Dr. Yogesh Patil and Ms. Rachana Sangitrao coordinated the visit. Total 54 students participated.
Fourth Board Of Studies Meeting

The department has organized 4th BoS meeting on 24/02/2026 in online mode. Dr Mrs P Malathi, Dr Padmaja K V, Dr Uttam M Chaskar, Dr Amol Rahulkar, Mr Kaustubh Gitapathi, Dr Sanjay L Patil & internal BoS members attended the meeting. All participated in discussion on TYBTech Syllabus content & provided valuable inputs for improvement. The syllabus draft is finalized.

The department has organized a visit to SIAT Expo 2026 at PIECC, Moshi, Pune for SYB Tech & BE students on 30/01/2026. Mrs. Arti A. Utikar , Garima Tiwari & Mrs. Vrashali Patil (Lab Assistant) coordinated the visit. Total 76 students were present for the visit. Students participated in the quiz there & Bhargavi Kulkani (SYBTech) won second prize.
BE Project Review
Date: 24/01/2026
Project review 3 of BE is conducted by department on 24/01/2026. Expert Mr. Akshay Mali (Alumni 2005), Sr. Engineer Honeywell evaluated the all the project groups and 5 project groups were selected as a best project for institute seed money. All the project guides were mentored for the event. Project coordinator Vinita Yerande coordinated the event. Total 53 students, all project guides participated in the project review.

Visit to Process Automation Expo

The Process Automation Expo (PAE) was held at the Autocluster Exhibition Centre in Pune from November 21–23, 2025. The event showcased cutting-edge technologies in process control, instrumentation, and automation for various industries. The expo featured a wide range of technologies, including process analytics, instrumentation, control systems, and automation components. It targeted industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food & beverages, oil & gas, and power. Rachana Sangitrao, Mrs. Archana Kesti & Garima Tiwari visited the Expo on 22/11/2025.
Field Engineering Project Exhibition

The Department of Instrumentation & Control Engineering organized the Field Engineering Project (FEP) Exhibition for Second Year B.Tech students on 03rd November 2025 at 11:00 AM in the department laboratories. The exhibition aimed to evaluate students & practical knowledge, innovation, and teamwork through semester-long projects. A total of 80 students participated, forming 21 project groups. Each group presented their work to a panel of external evaluators invited from various departments and industry.

Visit to Science Park, Chinchwad

The department has organized Science Park visit on 09/10/2025. Science Park, located in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, is a well-known educational and recreational center designed to promote science education through interactive learning. The park features indoor and outdoor galleries, thematic exhibits, Planatorium shows, and activity zones that engage students in experiential learning. Total 78 students & 3 faculty members participated in visit.

Industrial Visit to B&R Automation
Date: 08/10/2025
An industrial visit for BE students was organized by Students Association of Instrumentation Engineering department (SAIE) at B&R Automation Pune office. The visit is for one day and is intended to learn recent technologies in industrial automation and robotics. Mr. Rajat Jadhav, Automation Engineer from B &R Automation briefed about the company profile and its various fields of work along with products available from B&R and its technical updates. A few students interacted with Mr. Rajat about advanced PLC and HMI systems. The visit was scheduled on 08 October 2025. Dr. Yogesh H Patil, Ms. Vinita Yerande accompanied the students.

The Students Association of Instrumentation Engineers, Instrumentation Engineering Department organized the Avishkar Poster Competition in collaboration with SPPU for SE, TE and BE students. Expert Mr. Abhijeet Dhamal (Alumni Batch 2013) evaluated all the posters. SAIE faculty Coordinator Dr. Yogesh Patil coordinated the overall event along with Project Coordinator Ms. Vinita Yerande. Parent Teacher Meet

Instrumentation Department has organized the Parent-Teacher meeting for SE, TE and BE on 26/07/2024 for academic year 2024-25 Sem-1 in online mode on Google Meet at 11.00 am. Total 56 parents and all faculties have attended the meeting. The aim was to interact with parents & to develop Parent – Teacher relationships for development of students and to make parents and students aware about the plan for academics ahead.
SAIE Inauguration

Inauguration of Students Association of Instrumentation Engineers (SAIE) Club for Academic year 2025-26 is inaugurated on 14/08/2025. HOD Dr. B. B. Musmade and newly elected president of SAIE inaugurated the club. Every year new council members are elected from SE, TE and BE students for various positions. The purpose of SAIE is to develop leadership qualities and explore the hidden talent among students along with organizing Technical events like workshops/seminars, lectures from industry experts in order to bridge the industry institute gap. All faculty members with all the students of Instrumentation Engineering were present for the event.

INBAC’s Building Automation Community Expo and Connect Convention: ISA Activity:

STTP ON "PLC & HMI IN INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION"

One week Short term Training program on PLC and HMI in industrial automation has organized by department from 23/9/2024 to 27/09/2024. 60 students were trained form PLC programming and HMI. Mechanical , Robotics and automation, Electronics and telecommunication students were participated for this.
ENGINEER'S DAY CELEBRATION

Poster presentation Competition: On Engineer’s Day, In the afternoon, SE and TE Students of the Department presented their ideas through posters. Total 25 groups have participated in the poster presentation competition. Dr. A. B. More, HOD Civil worked as evaluator for the poster competition.
Department has celebrated Engineer’s Day on 19/9/2024 with great enthusiasm. In the morning, Expert Talk on Topic: Power Devices and its importance in Automation is delivered by Mr. Gopal B Kulkarni and Mr. Vinay G. Kulkarni, founder of KULCON Automation, Pune. Total 79 students from TE & SE along with 2 faculty attended the session.

Head of the Department, Dr B B Musmade, has given brief presentation of the Department facilities, Faculty and their specializations, responsibilities, also brief information of Centre of Excellences and other facilities. Mock Interview for upcoming JCI placements is organized by Alumni coordinator– Mrs. Arti Utikar and Training placement coordinator- Dr. Yogesh H. Patil on 31-8-24. The resource person was Mr. Nishant Bhatta, alumni of 2023 batch, working as Design Engineer GCE at Johnson Controls. Alumnus Mr. Nishant Bhatta guided the final year students on how to crack the interview. Total 99 students from Instrumentation, E&TC and Robotics & Automation attended the session in online mode.

Expert Talk was delivered by two Engineering Managers of Johnson Controls Ms Archana Bhalerao and Mr Santosh Chikhale. During their talk they gave the JCI overview of their operations, contributions and services offered in the automation field. Students of SE, TE and BE Instru and Control Engg attended the session. 90 students and 05 faculty members attended the session. Experts also provided guidance on preparations for the Johnson Control drive in our Campus. Faculty coordinator was Dr. Yogesh Patil.

IKS ACTIVITY: MAN KI YATRA

The department has organized the Man Ki Yatra Activity under IKS. Through Mann Ki Yatra activity, we explained to the students about the history of various historical temples and the stories related to them.(Sawariya seth Temple(Chittorgarh), Kiran Utsav at Mahalaxmi Temple (Kolhapur) and importance of Ganpati sthapana). 55 students attended this activity. This activity was organized by Mrs. Garima Tiwari (IKS Coordinator) and all faculty members of the Instrumentation Department. Resource persons for this activity are Mrs.Deepali Rane (Computer department) and Mrs. Arti Utikar (Instrumentation Department).

PARENT TEACHER MEET

Online parent teacher meet is organized on 26 July 2024.The aim was to interact with parents to develop parent-teacher relationships for development of students and to make parents and students aware about the plan for academics ahead. Points discussed were: Attendance of students to lectures and practical’s, Academic Development of Students, Placements through college, Importance of training sessions etc. The PTM is hosted by SE Class teacher -Mrs. Arti A. Utikar.
SE INDUCTION

SE Induction program was conducted under ISA Pune DYPCOE Chapter on 16 July 2024 by the Department. Mr Ritesh Patil, India Centre of Excellence Leader, Emerson Pune and Sr ISA Member was the Guest Speaker for the program. Mr Ritesh Patil delivered a talk on topic: Calibrating the Future: Instrumentation Engg & its Advantages in Future. During his talk he has given insights of upcoming technologies in Instrumentation like Cloud Computing, IoT/IIoT, Big Data, Augmented and Virtual Reality, etc. 60 students and 6 faculty members attended the session.

EV CHARGING STATION DONATION

Mr Pravin Chaudhari, Proud Alumni of 2002 Batch and Owner of Virtuoso Projects and Engineers Pvt Ltd Pune has donated one 2-wheeler and one 4-wheeler Electric Vehicle Charges to the institiute under MoU signed with the department. Setup and Testing of EV Station was done in the premises on 3/4/2024. Total 13 ISA student chapter members were involved in the activity.

Mr. H S Pansare Sir (Ex President ISA Pune), Mr. Vishal H Pansare, Mr. Rohit H Pansare – Logicon Techno Solutions, Mr Charles Williams, Promteck, UK, Mr Gurmeet Singh, President ISA Pune Section, Mr Vijay Kartik, Secretary from Logicon were present for the event. Total 136 students attended the event.
