Ms Rachana Sangitaro & Dr. B. B. Musmade published 2 patents in academic Year 2018-19:
Welcome to the Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department.
The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering is established in the year 1993 with an intake of 60 seats. The department got accredited by National Board of Accreditation twice in year 2005 and 2013.
This is a multi-disciplinary branch of engineering deals with automation and control. This discipline of Engineering plays a vital role in any modern industry. Control and computing are becoming increasingly important in automating industrial processes. This has created a strong demand for trained instrumentation professionals. This is one of most preferred disciplines in the well known universities in India and aboard. As our provincial industrial sector grows, instrumentation and controls continues to be an extremely important field of technology.
Our department has state of art infrastructural facilities and well equipped laboratories like Process, Control Systems, Sensors and Transducers, Electronics Design, Embedded Systems and Software Laboratories. A team of well qualified and highly experienced faculty with experience in research in allied domains taking efforts for all round development of our students. We have active collaboration with Instron Technologies LLP, Pune. Under this joint venture we conduct regular courses in PLC, SCADA, HMI and Drives like important domains of Automation. The objective of this tie-up is to develop the competency of the students to meet challenges of technological advancements in the area of Industrial Automation and Control Engineering.
Involvement of faculty in research and development brings a unique combination in teaching-learning process. Department has a track record of excellent results every year. Invited talks and quality improvement program are routine activities of the department to provide exposure to the recent technologies used in practices. Department encourage the students for their participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The implementation of outcome based education in the department enhanced the knowledge of staff and students to meet the challenges of new technological world and corporate sector so as to mold the budding graduates as successful professional engineers, researchers and entrepreneurs.
Strive for excellence in the multidisciplinary field of Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
The department of Instrumentation & Control was established in 1993 for undergraduate (UG) program. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University having intake of 60. The department was accredited by National Board of Accreditation w.e.f 05/08/2013 for two years.
The laboratories are well equipped. To have feel of industries we have miniture of processes like bolier, heat exchanger, multi flow loop, PLC, SCADA in Process Instrumentation lab. The basics of instrumentation regarding various sensors & associated processing is covered in Transducer & Electronics lab. The application & designing are carried out in Embedded/Software & Control lab.
The department has teaching faculty having vast teaching experience & also some having vast experience in core instrumentation industries. Regularly updation and modernization of laboratories as per syllabus & change in technology is practise. The students are motivated to purse higher studies & also participate in various technical events. To bridge between academic institute and industries, industrial visit are arranged every semester. The department motivate the final year students to do projects in core industries.

Placed in – Capgemini, Johnson Control India, Emerson.
The four years of college would have been so difficult without the love and encouragement everyone has showered all along. Our teachers and placement cell leaves no stone unturned in getting us the best of companies with great packages. The journey has been very exciting - from attending my first lecture to having 3 job offers! And not to exaggerate, this journey wouldn't have been possible without the support of entire department. The activities and sessions that the placement cell has come up with has helped a lot in facing aptitude tests and interviews. I really appreciate the teachers who have helped us to enhance our soft skills as well as aptitude. Thank you!

I have received the greatest benefit of anything I can imagine from my studies at D.Y. Patil Collage OF Engineering. Institute and Faculties are so hard working and caring and mentoring students to reach a highest level of success. I cannot imagine any possible way to truly express my thanks for having that now and what I have to look forward to every day. The ultimate results is I could get appointed at Most admired company L.G. Electronics Pune, where I can further excel my knowledge in Instrumentation and Automation. Once again I am very grateful to my Institute and Faculties.
